I had this microdiscectomy surgery a few years ago at L4/L5 and re ruptured the disc again 2 years later and had a fusion and that did not fuse so I had a revision fusion in 2023 and I feel 90% better now. My wife had back issues that started in Dec of 2024 and then the leg pain started off and on for a few months and bam the leg pain got worse and MRI showed herniated disc at L5/S1 so she had the MD yesterday woke up feeling very little leg pain and back is a little sore but hopefully on her way to being in a lot less pain or pain free. Surgeon said she had a big disc fragment he removed, took about 45 minutes for the actual surgery. We were trying to decide on epidurals or just doing the surgery and out Neurosurgeon said based on symptoms and what he saw on the MRI she needed to do it or eventually she would need it and it might end up worse. Also said the sooner you do the discectomy the better chance of getting those nerves back. My first back doctors had me waiting and I still have numbness from my left knee down to my foot. Its funny if i lift anything over 30 pounds or so my leg goes numb almost immediately or if I jog. It doesn't hurt though so I would recommend the MD if symptoms keep you from sleeping or doing normal things and the MRI shows a disc fragment or herniation.

Not to validate your statements but to provide some sort of accountability for the actions described in the testimony that you brought forth. These actions that you have illustrated are completely reprehensible, and absent human regard. It is my hope that divine intervention will soon provide you complete compensation for what you have lost, moreover, it's my hope that you get to be in the presence of your son physically, and emotionally or to something that I never got to experience on a continuum after the age of 8 years old (no sympathy requested I'm just thinking of golden).

While in recovery or say 5 or 6 weeks in after surgery was all your pain completely gone or was there still some sort of pain?..I’m now 6 weeks in after L5S1 fusion but I definitely still feel some pain put nothing in my actual spine itself but the surrounding areas,but there is definitely more good days then bad.im seeing the physio tomorrow for the first time to see what exercises I can start doing and what I am allowed to do and not to do

Germany sounds a lot better than the US , I’m day 3 was home 3 hours after procedure and having pain numbness . Keep thinking I am doing something wrong .

my 67 year old wife had a laminectomy on l4/l5 on july 24. 18 days ago. what a nightmare! she was advised that she would be in the hospital for 1 to 2 nights. the surgeon "nicked" her dura during the procedure and she was in the ICU for 3 days. then moved to a regular hospital room for another 5 days. then moved to a rehab hospital for 10 days. she's way worse than before the surgery. she has intense pain. 60mg of oxycodone a day + 2 doses of morphine, dilaudud and gamupentin. can barely walk from a chair to the toilet with the aid of a walker or a wheelchair. is having thoughts of ending it all. the doctor is an arrogant uncaring ass. she missed her 2 week follow up visit because she was in a rehab hospital and the office can't make time to see her until august 20! still has the bandaging over the wound with a softball sized bruisebelow it and over her butt crack. she was sent home yesterday and our life is a living hell. can't even sleep in her bed due to the pain. this happened in Fort Lauderdale. if you need to know who NOT to use, just ask.

I live here in Hannover, I never experienced those stuff before, been here for 7 years. And boy I have made a lot of mistakes but corrected in the friendliest ways possible. I do not look like typical German and I certainly do not speak fluent German ( still working on it..)

My man, after 14 spine surgeries and my entire lumbar level being fused, consider yourself LUCKY!! The trend and I hope not for your sake, it ONLY GETS WORSE!! I had a l5/s1 microdissectomy a week ago today. Before surgery I couldn't, sit, stand or lay down, I was in excruciating pain and then fully lost feeling below my waist. Last week I got diagnosed with Cauda Equina Syndrome & got rushed into emergency surgery (UK). I spent 1 night in hospital, I walked a day after my surgery. So far I'm in pretty much 0 pain and stopped all painkillers nearly :) I also have full feeling back below my waist. Super scary surgery but so life changing 🥰♥️

I have mine tomorrow in the states and they are keeping me for one night minimum but possibly 2. But i 100% agree with you on the quality of healthcare in the states vs. other developed nations

I hope you learn from this and realize that you are and always have been naive and weak. You must be more scrutinizing and not take shit from people. Time after time you are extending olive branches to your wife. Do not show this example to your son. And dont be afraid to fight these evil people. They are selfish and you are selfless so eventually they wil relent. Remember who you are fighting for. My father went through something similar. Ask yourself the right questions about people. Lesrn to discern them better and resct to the signs faster. Godspeed and god bless, im sorry that you had to go through this.
